Days 20–22–100 Days of Coding

So it’s been a pretty hectic weekend for me, which is why I’ve been slacking on posting lately. However, I’ve still been learning and coding every single day.

Over the last few days, I’ve been working with Javascript and manipulating the DOM. I’ve also been sharpening my skills with high-order Javascript function and learning how to code more efficiently.

I think I’ve reached a point now where I have a decent understanding of the basics and now I really just need to practice and build things. I want to have a very good grasp on Javascript before I decide to move onto React.

While the self-teaching route is going ok, I think I may benefit from a more structured curriculum. I know there’s a stigma behind coding boot camps and their graduates, but I think my situation is a little different because I already have a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field. I’ve been looking into a few good options, and I think a part-time boot camp could really help me elevate my skillset. I’d be less inclined to join one if I didn’t have any previous formal education, but since I do, I think an official programming curriculum will help to boost my resume.

I’m still going back and forth on the idea, but this may be the most efficient option if I’m trying to change careers sometime next year.
