Day 14–100 Days of Code
Today I tried to focus on more than just Javascript. I wanted to work with the entire front-end (HTML, CSS, Javascript).
To start off the morning, I messed around with some templates from Creative-Tim.com and did a bunch of editing to start creating my personal portfolio page. After working on that for a couple of hours, I decided to shift gears and work with Javascript.
I did a quick and simple Javascript project, which involved creating a filterable list. This was very simple and took minimal CSS and Javascript. I was actually able to create the whole thing within an index.html document. Once I finished this, I started working on some Javascript exercises to help build muscle memory when it comes to building functions and working with the DOM.
After that, I was going to look for another simple project to do, but then I stumbled upon the Materialize framework for CSS. I ended up going down this rabbit hole for over an hour before I had to call it a day and do some personal things.
Overall, it was a pretty productive day. I can undoubtedly notice my skills slowly merging together to paint an entire picture when it comes to front end development. I still have a very long way to go, but I definitely think I’d be ready to start freelancing by the end of the year if I keep this pace up.
